It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Section 27-7-5 of the General Laws in Chapter 27-7 entitled "Liability |
2 | Insurance" is hereby amended to read as follows: |
3 | 27-7-5. Information to injured party. -- Any insurance company doing business in this |
4 | state shall reveal to an injured party making a claim for personal injury or property damage |
5 | against an insured the amount of the limits of liability coverage upon receiving a request in |
6 | writing for that information from the injured party or his or her attorney. A reply shall be made |
7 | within fourteen (14) days of receiving the request. |
8 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
