RELATING TO BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS -- HOTELS | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 5-14 of the General Laws entitled "Hotels" is hereby amended by |
2 | adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 5-14-6. Mandatory release of information to law enforcement. – If, in the course of a |
4 | criminal investigation, any law enforcement agency shall request information regarding a patron |
5 | or patrons from the operator of a hotel, as defined in §5-14-3, said operator shall provide the |
6 | requesting law enforcement agency with any such information in the operator's possession, |
7 | including the name, address, phone number, automobile registration, and other identifying |
8 | information pertaining to the patron or patrons in question. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
