It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 27-50 of the General Laws entitled "Small Employer Health |
2 | Insurance Availability Act" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 27-50-18. Group insurance purchase by small businesses. – In order to continue to |
4 | improve the overall fairness and efficiency of the small group health insurance market, small |
5 | employer carriers shall permit small employers, collectively as a group, to purchase group health |
6 | plans, health benefit plans, wellness health benefit plans, and any other form of health insurance |
7 | plan authorized by this chapter. |
8 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
