H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

HONORING THE HOME LOAN FOUNDATION AND SPONSORING COORDINATORS

FOR HOSTING THE "CELTIC TWILIGHT CHRISTMAS" CONCERT TO BENEFIT THE

ASSUMPTION PARISH FOOD MINISTRY

     WHEREAS, Sir Winston Churchill was quoted as saying, "We make a living by what we

2

get, we make a life by what we give." And there is no truer example of generosity and dedication

3

to the community than the actions of The Home Loan Foundation that recently donated $50,000

4

to Assumption Parish Food Ministry in Providence; and

5

     WHEREAS, The Home Loan Foundation is a private foundation, established in 2008 by

6

Home Loan Investment Bank, FSB. Over the course of the past seven years, the Foundation has

7

munificently given back to the community, supporting various causes and organizations

8

including, the Rhode Island Foundation, Boys & Girls Club, the Manton Avenue Project, the

9

McCauley Corporation, RISE, and numerous schools; and

10

     WHEREAS, Sponsored by The Home Loan Foundation, a "Celtic Twilight Christmas"

11

concert was presented at The Park Theatre in Cranston in December of 2014. Coordinating the

12

concert were Fr. Daniel Trainor and Sr. Angela Daniels, C.P., of Assumption Church, John M.

13

Murphy, Sr., founder and chair of Home Loan Investment Bank, and Laurence K. Flynn,

14

chairman of Omni Development Corporation. The entire proceeds from the ticket sales for this

15

amazing event were given to the Assumption Parish food ministry in order to help feed the

16

hungry in our state; and

17

     WHEREAS, The Assumption Parish Food Ministry, led by the efforts of Father Daniel

18

Trainor and Sister Angela Daniels, served more than 18,000 people in the Greater Providence

19

area last year and the need continues to grow; and

     WHEREAS, Inspiring endeavors such as this donation by the Home Loan Foundation,

2

that gave unselfishly to the betterment of humanity, is eminently worthy of our praise and

3

acknowledgement; now, therefore be it

4

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

5

Providence Plantations hereby recognizes and thanks The Home Loan Foundation for its

6

generous contribution of $50,000 to benefit the Assumption Parish Food Ministry and the

7

dedicated efforts of all the sponsoring coordinators; and be it further

8

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

9

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to John M. Murphy Sr., Chairman of Home Loan

10

Investment Bank, Laurence K. Flynn, chairman of Omni Development, and Fr. Daniel Trainor

11

and Sr. Angela Daniels, C.P.
