RELATING TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Title 22 of the General Laws entitled "GENERAL ASSEMBLY" is hereby |
2 | amended by adding thereto the following chapter: |
3 | CHAPTER 4.1 |
4 | HOLDING OF OFFICES UNDER OTHER GOVERNMENTS |
5 | 22-4.1-1. Senators and representatives not to hold other offices under municipal |
6 | government. -- No senator or representative shall, during the time for which he or she was |
7 | elected, be appointed to any municipal office, board, commission or other municipal or quasi- |
8 | public entity and no person holding any executive office or serving as a member of any municipal |
9 | board, commission or other municipal or quasi-public entity shall be a member of the senate or |
10 | the house of representatives during his or her continuance in such office. |
11 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
