RELATING TO TAXATION -- BUY LOCAL RI SALES TAX HOLIDAY WEEKEND | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 44-18.1 of the General Laws entitled "Adoption of the Streamlined |
2 | Sales and Use Tax Agreement" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 44-18.1-23.1. Buy local RI sales tax holiday weekend. – There shall be a sales tax |
4 | holiday on the first full weekend in August of each year, which shall be named the "Buy Local RI |
5 | Sales Tax Holiday Weekend." All sales in this state during that time period are included and |
6 | exempt from all sales and use taxes. |
7 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
