RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES -- BUDGET COMMISSIONS | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 45-9 of the General Laws entitled "Budget Commissions" is hereby |
2 | amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 45-9-24. Reimbursement of receivership costs. – The state shall reimburse a city, town |
4 | or fire district twenty percent (20%) of the total costs incurred by the city, town or fire district in |
5 | connection with the appointment of a receiver pursuant to this chapter. Such reimbursement shall |
6 | be applied both prospectively and retroactively to costs incurred on or after July 1, 2010 and shall |
7 | be applied retroactively to July 1, 2010. |
8 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
