H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF MARIA F. CANARIO

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Maria

F. Canario, the loving wife of more than fifty-one years to Josue S. Canario, and the devoted

mother of Josue D. Canario and his wife, Jennifer, and Mario J. Canario; and

     WHEREAS, Born in St. Michaels, Azores, Mrs. Canario was the daughter of the late

John and Isabel Costa. She was the sister of John Costa, Manuel Costa, Lum Costa, Theresa

Mello, Dorothy Champigny, Fatima Medeiros, and the late Piadade Tavares; and

     WHEREAS, A long-time resident of the Town of Warren, Mrs. Canario had previously

made her home in the Town of Bristol. She had been an assembler for the Converse Rubber

Company for many years and was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Church; and

     WHEREAS, In addition to her husband and children, Mrs. Canario leaves behind her five

beautiful grandchildren, Jocelyn, Janelle, Joshua, Alexa, and Lucas; and

     WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Maria Canario left an indelible mark on the lives of

those she knew and loved, and she will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to the Canario Family on the

passing of Maria F. Canario; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Josue S. Canario and Family.
