2013 RHODE ISLAND DIVISION III STATE GIRLS BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP | |

WHEREAS, Juanita Sanchez High School continued its reign as the Division III Rhode |

Island Girls Basketball champions when it held off North Smithfield in the state playoff semi- |

finals 46-41, and then defeated Middletown in the championship game in a hard-fought contest at |
|
1-4 |
the Ryan Center by the score of 43-36, to repeat as state champions; and |
|
1-5 |
WHEREAS, Juanita Sanchez compiled a sterling 19-3 regular season overall record and |
|
1-6 |
an outstanding 14-1 first place divisional record, led all season by the high scoring of D’Asia |
|
1-7 |
Allen and Elfreda Hoff, and the steady leadership of seniors Jaleah Robinson, Emely Cabrera, |
|
1-8 |
and Leon-I Taylor; and |
|
1-9 |
WHEREAS, Winning a state title in any sport requires discipline, sacrifice, and a total |
|

commitment to putting the team first and individual desires second. The Juanita Sanchez Division |
|

III Girls Basketball Team accomplished this goal led by the superb coaching and innovative |
|

leadership of head coach Ty Dale and Assistant Coach Rick Bozzer. All of the members of the |
