RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY - COMPREHENSIVE CHILDREN'S JEWELRY

SAFETY ACT

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 23-24.11-3 of the General Laws in Chapter 23-24.11 entitled

"Comprehensive Children's Jewelry Safety Act" is hereby amended to read as follows:

     23-24.11-3. Requirements. -- All children's jewelry manufactured or sold, one hundred

eighty (180) days after the effective date of this act section shall meet the requirements of ASTM

1-5

F 2923-11.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

     This act would require children’s jewelry, manufactured or sold within one hundred

eighty (180) days after the effective date of the act, to conform to standards promulgated by the

American Society for Testing and Materials.

     This act would take effect upon passage.
