     RESOLVED, That the special legislative commission created by Resolution No. 351,

passed by the Senate at its January session, A.D. 2012, and approved June 12, 2012, entitled

"Senate Resolution Creating a Special Legislative Commission to Study Producer Responsibility

Models for Paper and Packaging” is hereby authorized to continue its study and make a report to

the General Assembly on or before May 3, 2013, and said commission shall expire on June 14,

1-6

2013; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the time for reporting authorized by Resolution No. 351, passed by

1-8

the Senate at its January session, A.D. 2012, and approved June 12, 2012, be and the same is

1-9

hereby rescinded.

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

EXTENDING THE REPORTING AND EXPIRATION DATES OF A SPECIAL

LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION TO STUDY PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITY MODELS FOR

PAPER AND PACKAGING

     This resolution would extend the reporting and expiration dates of the special legislative

commission to make a comprehensive study and review of all matters related to preserve long-

2-3

term landfill capacity for Rhode Island municipalities by continuing to expand the diversion of

2-4

paper and packaging through a producer responsibility program; and who would report back to

2-5

the General Assembly no later than May 3, 2013; and whose life would expire June 14, 2013.
