RELATING TO TAXATION - INCOME TAX REFUNDS - STATE TAX OFFICIALS

     Introduced By: Representatives Nunes, Phillips, Valencia, Marcello, and Jacquard

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 44-1 of the General Laws entitled "State Tax Officials" is hereby

amended by adding thereto the following section:

     44-1-35. Automatic deposit income tax refund. – All filers of state income tax returns

1-4

shall be given the option of having their income tax refund directly deposited into a bank account

chosen by the taxpayer.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
