A N A C T

RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT - I-195 REDEVELOPMENT ACT

OF 2011

     

     

     Introduced By: Representatives Carnevale, Williams, Hull, Lombardi, and DeSimone

     Date Introduced: February 14, 2013

     Referred To: House Finance

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. There shall be imposed a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) per semester to be

assessed to every student attending Brown University, the Rhode Island School of Design, and/or

Johnson and Wales University who is not a legal resident of the state of Rhode Island.

     SECTION 2. Funds collected pursuant to this act shall be remitted to the state treasurer of

the state of Rhode Island to be placed in a restricted receipt account to be used exclusively by the

1-6

I-195 redevelopment commission in furtherance of the duties of said commission pursuant to

1-7

chapter 42-64.14.

     SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon passage and shall be repealed on December

1-9

31, 2016.

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

     This act would impose a fifty dollar ($50.00) per semester fee to out of state students

attending Brown University, the Rhode Island School of Design, and Johnson and Wales

University for the restricted use by the I-195 redevelopment commission.

     This act would take effect upon passage and would be repealed on December 31, 2016.
