EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF SERGEANT FIRST CLASS

DOMENIC D'AMBRA, III

     WHEREAS, It is with the utmost sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of

1-2

Sergeant First Class Domenic D'Ambra, III, the husband of Madelyn A. D'Ambra, and the father

1-3

of Anthony Murillo, and Alexia and Domenic D'Ambra, IV; and

1-4

     WHEREAS, Born in Providence, Sgt. D'Ambra was the son of Domenic D'Ambra, Jr.,

1-5

and Dawn Ruscetta.  In addition to his wife, children, and parents, he is survived by his sister,

1-6

Danielle D'Ambra, and his brothers, Charles and Edward Peterson; and

1-7

      WHEREAS, Sgt. D'Ambra was a Green Beret who was serving with the 1st Special

1-8

Forces Group (Airborne), stationed at Fort Lewis, Steilacoom, Washington.  Members of this

1-9

elite military group “endure difficult training and face all challenges head on.” They are

1-10

“mentally agile, astutely aware, and physically tough”; and

1-11

     WHEREAS, Rhode Islanders and Americans were proud of the great courage and

1-12

commitment Sergeant First Class Domenic D'Ambra, III, demonstrated while serving our

1-13

country.  He will be buried with full military honors; and

1-14

     WHEREAS, Our thoughts and hearts hold great empathy and sorrow for the family of

1-15

Sgt. D'Ambra and it is essential they know they are never far from our thoughts and prayers; now,

1-16

therefore be it   

1-17

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

1-18

hereby recognizes and honors Sergeant First Class Domenic D'Ambra, III.  We rest secure in the

1-19

knowledge that our freedom and human rights are safeguarded by the dedicated service of

2-20

     Sgt. D'Ambra and the actions of all the valiant and dauntless members of the Armed Forces; and

2-21

be it further  

2-22

      RESOLVED, That this Senate hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing

2-23

of Sergeant First Class Domenic D'Ambra, III; and be it further

2-24

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to

2-25

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Madelyn A. D'Ambra and Family.
