APPROPRIATING THE STATE’S PORTION OF THE TAX REVENUE FROM THE $336.4

MILLION DOLLAR LOTTERY WINNINGS TO RESTORE FUNDING TO THE

DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED

     WHEREAS, Funding for the developmentally disabled was decreased in the state’s 2011-

2012 fiscal budget; and

     WHEREAS, The state will receive an unanticipated “windfall” of tax revenue proceeds

from the recent Rhode Island $336.4 million dollar winning lottery ticket sold in the state; now,

therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That there is hereby appropriated all proceeds from tax revenue received

1-7

from the $336.4 million dollar lottery winnings to the budget line item for the developmentally

1-8

disabled that were previously cut from the 2011-2012 budget.
