CONGRATULATING DANIELLE LACOURSE ON BEING NAMED THE FIRST RUNNER- | |

UP IN THE MISS USA PAGEANT | |

WHEREAS, Accomplished young women from across the United States participated in |
|

the 56th Annual Miss USA Pageant. Contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia |
|

competed in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview; and |
|
1-4 |
WHEREAS, Rhode Island’s own homegrown beauty, Danielle Lacourse was named first |
|
1-5 |
runner-up, and life for her will surely never be the same. Already the doors are opening. She |
|
1-6 |
has a full schedule of events to attend and modeling agencies are calling; and |
|
1-7 |
WHEREAS, Danielle is doubly blessed. She is not only a celebrated beauty, but also |
|
1-8 |
possesses amazing brainpower. She is a graduate of St. Mary Academy-Bay View, and is |
|
1-9 |
currently a junior at Rhode Island College, where she maintains a 3.7 grade-point average; and |
|
1-10 |
WHEREAS, Upon graduation, Danielle hopes to work as a neonatal nurse at Women & |
|
1-11 |
Infants Hospital. She already has quite an impressive job resume. In addition to her pageant |
|
1-12 |
titles, she has worked as a volunteer at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, for a Providence law firm, |
|
1-13 |
and at the General Assembly as a page. She is a dancer and a competitive swimmer, and has been |
|
1-14 |
a cheerleader; and |
|
1-15 |
WHEREAS, With school and family, friends and admirers, Danielle’s future is bright |
|
1-16 |
and full, and if the Miss USA 2007 is named Miss Universe, or for some reason cannot fulfill her |
|
1-17 |
responsibilities, Danielle will assume her duties; now, therefore be it |
|
1-18 |
RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
|
1-19 |
Providence Plantations hereby congratulates Danielle Lacourse on being named first-runner up in |
|
2-1 |
the 2007 Miss USA Beauty Pageant. We wish her happiness, good health, and continued success |
|
2-2 |
in all her future endeavors; and be it further |
|

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
|

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Danielle Lacourse. |
